What is a red dot sight?
A riflescope red dot sight typically has a red dot on the optical device which is used to measure and locate the target.
What are the main components of the red dot sight?
A typical red dot sight consists of the following parts:
- a tilted spherical mirror reflector
- a red light-emitting diode (LED)
- a battery compartment
- brightness control
- elevation adjustment
- windage adjustment

Best practices for storing and maintaining the red dot sights.
- Cover the lenses when the sight is not being used.
- When exposed to mud, sea spray, snow, water, wipe the sight dry as soon as possible with a lens paper/cloth.
- Please refrain from cleaning the lenses with bare fingers.
- If you don’t have any lens paper/cloth and the lens is covered with debris, firstly blow away the dirt. Secondly, breathe on the lens and then clean it with a soft cloth.
What is an MOA?
MOA stands short for Minutes Of Angle. It is a unit of angular measure of the size of the red dot and how much it will cover at a distance. A 3 MOA reticle will look like a 3-inch circle.
1 MOA = 1/60th of 1 degree
What to do when you are unable to spot the red dot?
You can start by presenting to the target and then focus on your vision. Initially if you are unable to find the red dot, just move the muzzle in circles attempting to index that red dot.
How to self-troubleshoot when the red dot still does not appear?
The possible cause could either be with the battery or a defective part. You can try the following solutions:
- Fix it by replacing the battery
- If the battery is installed incorrectly, you can remove the battery and reinstall it
- If the problem persists, you can clean the contact surfaces of the battery and reinstall it
- If none of the above works, kindly contact your dealer
